Intro
My primary focus is the Tactile Zine series. Tactile Zine is a physical zine covering the maker and creative culture around custom mechanical keyboards. And anything adjacent. You can expect interviews with community members, commentary from me, and other related topics. I want to shine a spotlight on the community and everything people make.
My goal is to include as much community feedback as possible. If you would like to work together on something or have ideas to give me, please reach out. My contact info can be found here.
And to keep the original vibe of the zine, this entire project is DIY. I taught myself how to self host and create the website. I made the stamps for the thank you notes. I write and edit everything myself. I'm going to try and work on as much art myself as I can. This is a passion project first and as such, things can take some time.
What's a zine?
What's a zine? It's a physical, printed on paper, mini magazine that I am self publishing.
History
This is a continuation of the original project: Tactile Zine (1.0). It was a zine that lived on the geekhack forums and focused on keyboard and the DIY culture surrounding it. Tactile Zine 2.0 started in 2023 with a hiatus in 2025.
Archive of Projects
The Tactile Zine project has existed in two parts:
- Tactile Zine 1.0: From 2015 to 2018 which was documented on geekhack.
- Please note that I have made the creative decision not to reprint these except in limited cases. I do not wish to have these scanned and reposted online. I want the zines to exist as a physical time capsule
- Tactile Zine 2.0: Starting again in 2023, Tactile Zine 2.0 has existed and documented on this site and on geekhack.
